Divas for the Baba lobby group

In court documents seen by the press house, Irungu, the founder of Divas for Baba, a lobby group supporting the presidential candidacy of ODM boss Raila Odinga, claims the move is unconstitutional and undermines the party’s position. led by Raila Odinga as a well-known political party. in the countryside.

“ODM has jointly and on several occasions united its efforts with outsiders to the party, including the party concerned here (Wanjigi), with the aim of embarrassing the functioning and integrity of the nationally renowned political party,” it read. in court documents.

Another issue raised by the petition is the ODM’s decision to give Wanjigi a life member.

The complainant expressed concern that Wanjigi’s candidacy was never presented or approved by a duly convened National Executive Committee (NEC), as required by the party’s constitution.

Politician Nyeri also accused the ODM party of failing to conduct an objective ethics and integrity test on Wanjigi.

She told the Political Parties Court that Wanjigi did not follow due process before announcing her candidacy and launching campaigns.

“There is no reasonable doubt that this decision has caused confusion within the party and should be immediately withdrawn,” she said.
