The United States of America is battling Hurricane Ian, and media around the world are diligently covering the news. American journalist Kyla Galer, who works for NBC, was one of many reporters who covered the hurricane updates. However, Galer caught the eye for a different reason. The reporter was seen talking to people with a condom on her microphone.

Galer was reporting from the field on the intense and destructive hurricane in Florida. What made his reporting different was the condom on his microphone. People wondered why she would use a condom to cover her microphone. Understanding the obvious bewilderment and questions in people’s minds, Galer spoke about it on social media.

In a short clip, the reporter said: “A lot of people ask me on social media what’s on my mic. So I want to tell you what you think is correct. It’s just a condom. It’s raining a lot here and “If water gets into the microphone, it will be damaged and I won’t be able to report. So I had to. It’s a condom.”
