How Tinubu made his fortune before becoming a politician

DDirector of Strategic Communications of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Mr. Dele Alake told how the party’s presidential candidate for the 2023 elections, Bola Tinubu, got his wealth. (TNG) reports that Mr Alake attributed the source of Tinubu’s wealth to investment in blue-chip company shares, pointing out that he knew Tinubu was wealthy before his foray into politics.

“What I do know is that from his days in the corporate world he’s been trading stocks, and he’s said so himself. He’s bought stocks and bonds and all that. I don’t I’m not a financier, so I’m not going to get into all of this, but I do know that he trades stocks.

“I know when you trade stocks and you’re a financier, you know how to juggle the stock market and all that. Those in the know know what I’m talking about. They wouldn’t begin to wonder how he made money with stocks.

“He was buying blue chip company stocks and stuff. He made money and he spent money. He did all these years before he took office,’ Alake said during an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.

However, he did not disclose the blue chip companies in which Tinubu has invested shares nor did he disclose whether Tinubu owned or had investments in any company in Nigeria.

“What concerns me about the business he owns in Nigeria? If tomorrow you become like Bola Ahmed Tinubu, why should I care about the companies you own until it is proven that you took the money from your state or from any company for which you work?

“It is not proven and you are not charged in court. Why should I be bothering now? It’s a foreign matter and as I always say pandering to the whims and whims of those who are jealous and extremely envious and suffer from OCH, Obsessive-Compulsive Hate, Asiwaju.

“Why people wonder about the source of his wealth is because he was a successful governor of Lagos and a successful politician even after his tenure. He is about the only one in the class of 1999 who is at this enviable political height today. He is bound to attract all this negative commentary.

“He was earning his money long before he took office. I think what is really important for Nigerians is to know that this man was not a pauper before he took office like some others,” Alake said.
