Speaking to Jim Varsallone, Christian Cage revealed how AEW stars landed on the show.

“I’m friends with one of the guys running the show, a guy named Eric Pankowski, who was a writer for WWE at the time. He and I had made contact and he was interested in having us on the show and having AEW represented in the show, which I thought was pretty cool. I brought it to AEW’s attention and the rest is history” he said.

Pankowski served as WWE’s Creative and Development SVP from January 2012 to March 2013.

Speaking about his appearance on the show, Christian said: “It was a great time, great fun. I’ve been a fan of Carpool Karaoke for a while, even when it was just a segment on James Corden’s talk show. Very entertaining. It was great fun to be invited to be a part of it. Basically you just riff and improvise as you go and have fun and try to make each other laugh and hopefully the audience will laugh with you.

On AEW television, Christian manages AEW Tag Team Champions Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus. The duo will defend their AEW Tag Team Titles against Swerve Strickland & Keith Lee and Ricky Starks & Powerhouse Hobbs at AEW Double or Nothing.
