LONGWOOD, Florida – Matt morgan, a giant man measuring 7 feet tall and weighing 315 pounds, wraps his thick, muscular arms around the Easter Bunny as a sign of love to set an example for his young son, Jackson.
You might think the Easter Bunny is just a jabroni dressed in a costume pretending to be a hip-apito-hop-hop creature delivering Easter eggs.
But say no such thing in the presence of retired 7-foot-tall professional wrestler, known in the square circle as “The Plan” Matt Morgan.
As an elected politician and celebrity, Morgan, 44, is dedicated to countless charities and community events in this Seminole County town, just northeast of Orlando and about 45 minutes from Daytona Beach along from the I-4 tourist corridor – Disney and the Attractions in The beautiful city on one side and the Daytona International Speedway and the world’s most famous beach on the other.
For Morgan and his wife Larissa, devout Christians, Easter symbolizes the day of Christ’s resurrection from the grave after his death after being nailed to the cross by the Romans due to the betrayal of one of his disciples – Judas Iscariot – for 30 pieces of silver. It’s also an opportunity to give their 7 year old autistic son, Jackson, the fun and love of the Easter Bunny and other fun activities such as coloring eggs.

âMy wife and my son – my family – that’s what’s most important to me,â Morgan said.
And what better day than Easter for Morgan to really reflect on the loves of his story-rich life both in and out of the public spotlight – that of his wife and son.

Morgan stands tall, literally and figuratively: after all, he is 7 feet tall. He was a giant in the professional wrestling world and a scary sight to American gladiators for a season.
Morgan’s wrestling career began in 2002 and spanned a decade and a half – with WWE, TNA Impact Wrestling, and on independent wrestling circuits in the United States and Japan.
In 2008, Morgan accepted an offer to appear on the third series of American Gladiators as one of the Gladiators.
Under the name “Beast,” Morgan made his Gladiator debut on the first night of the Joust semifinals. He beat each of his two opponents in less than eight seconds.
In November 2010, Morgan was a contender on an all-TNA week’s Family quarrel, in team with professional wrestlers Deadly Jay, Mick foley, Mr. Anderson, and Rob van dam vs Angelina Amour, Christy hemme, Lacey von erich, Tara, and Velvet sky.
These days, Morgan is an elected politician – serving as a municipal commissioner in Longwood and as a former mayor.
In 2017, Morgan ran for public office, defeating incumbent Mark Weller as City Commissioner for District 4 of Longwood, Florida. He is a member of the Republican Party. He became the mayor of Longwood on May 7, 2019, serving for one year on a rotational basis as part of his post as municipal commissioner-elect.
Even with his family and political office, Morgan keeps an eye on wrestling through various podcasts and wrestling websites, as a special guest or contributing writer.
Did you know? Matt Morgan, rightfully 7 feet tall, competed in the trials for the Indiana Pacers and Toronto Raptors NBA, but neither team offered him a contract. So he turned to professional wrestling. The Fairfield, Connecticut native played college basketball, first for Monmouth and then transferred to Chaminade University in Hawaii, where he finished his college basketball career and graduated magna cum laude in public speaking. At Chaminade, Morgan starred in the Invitation to Maui against the n ° 1 in the ranking Duke the blue devils.
